The NKI print server NKI-APPS can now be used as the print server for the CABI printers. The CABI file server/print server golem can still be used as the print server, but for Windows installation with NKI-APPS is simpler. (Note: we still use golem as the print server for Linux.) These instructions are for Windows XP but should be useful for other versions of Windows.
Click the Start Menu, choose Settings, then Printers and Faxes. Then double-click the Add Printer icon.
| The Add Printer Wizard opens; click Next. | ![]() |
| Choose "network printer" and click Next. | ![]() |
| Choose "Connect to this printer". Then enter the print server and printer names (eg, \\NKI-APPS\CABI_HP4050) or leave blank to browse for a printer. Click Next. |
|
| If you want to browse for the printer, scroll down under NKI... | |
| ... to NKI-APPS. Double-click NKI-APPS... | |
| ... then scroll to the printer that you want. Select the printer and click Next. | |
| Choose whether you want that printer to be the default and click Next. | |
| Click Finish to finish the installation. | |
